We restore degraded ecosystems through reforestation, conservation actions, and community participation.

Protecting biodiversity requires restoring the ecosystems that sustain it. Corcovado Foundation works to recover degraded landscapes through reforestation, ecological monitoring, and community-based conservation initiatives.

Our restoration programs focus on planting native trees, monitoring forest regeneration, and engaging volunteers and local residents in hands-on conservation activities. By restoring forests and coastal habitats, we help rebuild ecological connectivity and provide critical habitat for wildlife.

These initiatives also contribute to climate resilience by improving soil health, increasing forest cover, and strengthening ecosystem services in one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth.

Impact Highlights

  • Over 4,000 native trees planted in restoration areas within the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve.
  • 5 permanent monitoring plots established to track forest recovery and ecosystem regeneration.
  • Up to 300% increase in wildlife presence recorded in restored areas.
  • 500+ native trees planted with local families on private lands, strengthening biological connectivity between forest fragments.
  • 200+ bags of waste removed during coastal and community cleanup campaigns.
  • More than 90,000 sea turtle hatchlings released into the ocean since 2006 through conservation efforts.
  • 13 hectares of mangrove ecosystems restored, improving coastal protection and critical habitat for marine and bird species.
