The Corcovado Foundation has a new Executive Director

09 / May / 2024

After 23 years of service, passion and commitment to the environment and communities, our beloved Alejandra closes her cycle as Executive Director of our organization. That is why the Board of Directors has appointed Francisco Delgado as the new Executive Director, who has been part of the foundation’s team since 2006 and previously served as Project Director.

This is Alejandra’s message:

“After 23 wonderful years at the Corcovado Foundation, I have decided to make a change and seek new challenges. This has been a very difficult decision, which has caused me a lot of anguish. Because leaving an organization that I practically created is painful. But it was time for a change. I feel grateful for the opportunity to have been part of their story and I feel grateful for the possibilities that open up in my future. However, I feel happy because I know that I am leaving behind a fantastic team of super-committed young professionals, led by Francisco Delgado, who will assume the executive direction of the foundation. Francisco has been working for the foundation for 19 years and as you know, he has enormous ability to manage projects and has plenty of experience to manage the foundation. Behind Francisco we also have a team of highly capable consultants with vast experience. I could not leave the foundation if I did not have complete certainty that the foundation will continue doing excellent work in my absence.”

For his part, Francisco Delgado expressed his gratitude for the trust to carry out the new position:

“I feel honored by the opportunity to lead the organization. I take on this great challenge with great humility and confidence in the excellent team that has the Corcovado Foundation. We will continue working hard for the sustainable development of communities and the conservation of Costa Rica’s natural resources.”

Francisco has been working for the Corcovado Foundation for 19 years, previously as Project Director. He has a degree in business administration, courses in project management for sustainable development and non-profit organization management. He is currently studying the third year of his law degree.

We deeply thank Alejandra for her successful work and her legacy. We welcome Francisco and wish him the greatest success in his new management.
