Volunteer El Tigre Corcovado

The Dos Brazos Conservationist Association of Río Tigre (ACODOBRARTI), is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004, with the purpose of changing the local ideology about hunting, illegal logging and mining, to guide the community towards Sustainable Tourism.

With the efforts of all the members of the association, they fulfilled their main objective: to empower and accompany the community, offering courses in guidance, cooking, entrepreneurship, among others.

Throughout its history, the Association managed to manage the construction of the Eco Brazos Cultural Hall, a suspension bridge to facilitate access to the school, the opening of a new path to the Corcovado National Park, 45 housing bonds and 25 certified guides with the license of the ICT.

They continue working, strengthening themselves and achieving all their conservation objectives.

About the Work

Volunteers will have the opportunity to monitor animals by reviewing cameras, maintenance of nurseries and trails (planting trees, collecting seeds), registration and labeling of plants and trees, beautification of the town, among others.

What happens with free time?

As a volunteer you will be assigned one day off per week, during which you can choose to enjoy the area’s river, explore trails, take tours. You can also spend time with the people of the community or relax on one of the many beautiful beaches nearby.

How much?

Rates from $35 U.S.D. per person, per night. Ask about our special discounts for long-term stays.

This covers accommodation, three meals a day and training. It does not cover the transportation costs of arrival and departure, nor the tours, nor the extra expenses that may be incurred.
