What are we working on?

Embracing change

In an effort to try to stay closer, motivated, and sane, we are directing our efforts by using our platforms and networks to support the community we serve.

Our goals will be refocus on collecting cleaning goods and supplies for the people who need it most: the elderly population in Drake Bay.

New goals

The foundation have been serving Drake Bay for over 20 years, and we know that this community will be very affected by the impact of this tourism crisis.

Since the tourism industry is the main source of income in the area, this rural community will be one of the biggest victims of COVID-19, so we are using our talent, energy and time to help those who need us most.

Will dedicate our effort to collect money and goods; and deliver food baskets to those who are most vulnerable from an economic and health perspective to COVID-19.

Even from home, we continue working.

Our projects such as Infrastructure in protected areas, strengthening tourism in La Amistad Park, the Corcovado National Park Management Plan and the the Forest Reserve Participation Strategy will continue to advance by telephone, Zoom and other technological platforms.

Helena, our environmental educator, continues with classes through videos, challenging all the childrens to practice from home, so that later they send us their assignments. We want to keep them interested, active and motivated.

For our members of the tourism industry, we ask them to send us news about their companies and information that we can promote. Also we decided to temporarily suspend the payment of membership fees for the next six months or for as long as necessary. In addition we offer online workshops of environmental issues.

On our social networks we are sharing positive and truthful messages to keep people positively connected.

It is time to continue taking care of ourselves. We stop the virus unite.
